Yes, you can add individual subscribers or import a list of email addresses to your Mailing List.
Navigate to the Mailing List section of your dashboard and click "Manage Subscriber List":
On the Manage Subscriber List page, you'll see buttons to add subscribers one at a time or import multiple subscribers.
If you choose to import subscribers, you'll be prompted to upload a CSV file. We will provide a CSV template for you to download to ensure your subscribers' information is formatted correctly. Please follow the instructions on the import page, and contact our team if you have any questions.
Verify your contacts' deliverability status before importing
Please ensure you only import email addresses that have not previously unsubscribed or bounced, and that you have explicit permission to contact. Adding undeliverable emails to your Mailing List can hurt email deliverability for you and other Author Websites users, and may result in a suspension of your email-sending privileges.
Will imported subscribers receive my Welcome Email?
If you have a Welcome Email enabled in your Author Websites email dashboard, you can elect to send it to subscribers you import into your dashboard by checking the "Send Welcome Email to imported subscribers" checkbox while uploading your CSV.
What happens if I have an integration set up with an email marketing platform?
If you bulk import a list of subscribers, we will not export those emails back to your integrated email platform.
If you add an individual subscriber manually, we will export that new contact the same way we would a new sign-up through your mailing list form.
How am I supposed to format my CSV?
If you are having trouble uploading your CSV, it is likely because your CSV is incorrectly formatted. Your CSV must follow this format: email, status, first name (optional), last name (optional). The upload will only work if the CSV matches our template exactly. We would encourage you to download the template at the bottom of this article and add your contact details to it. This can help ensure that the columns are properly formatted.
Important details to note:
- Our format for “subscribed” is case sensitive, so the word “subscribed” must be completely lowercase every time it appears in your CSV
- Your CSV cannot have any extra columns, rows, or headers that do not align with our template
- The columns must be in the following order: Email, Status, First Name, Last Name
